Florida State Compliant EXIT Signs
State Summary:
Northern Florida requires primarily red Exit signs, but also makes it easy for many organizations to follow the Life Safety Code supported by the state. For example, in 2007 a loan was offered to Nursing Homes, allowing them to install sprinkler systems in specific facility areas. The State Fire Marshal Nursing Home Fire Protection Loan Guarantee Program was developed to "mobilize private funding" toward an increase in sprinkler systems in the many nursing homes throughout the state. This program is a great opportunity to discuss other Life Safety codes with your local Fire Marshal to find out their specific recommendations for other Life Safety Equipment.

All occupied structures must have approved Exit signs; all Exit signs must be visible from any direction. |
