Lightolier

Lightolier
A Philips group brand

Lightolier is a company with a rich history of growth and innovation. Lightolier was founded in 1904, in the early days of electric lighting. By the 1920's, the company had published the first application-oriented "Stylebook" catalog. Already, "function with style" (glass refractors in pendants, for example) was an important selling feature. By the Second World War, Lightolier had built a reputation for design leadership in decorative lighting.

After the war, the company entered the architectural lighting market in a major way. Rapidly, Lightolier earned recognition for its sophisticated and sensitive designs. With its introduction of track lighting in the 1960's, the company became an important player in the fast growing store lighting market. Also in the 1960's the company began asserting its expertise in downlighting reflector technology. Lightolier figured importantly in the use of downlights in residential, as well as hospitality and entertainment spaces. During this decade, Lightolier added facilities across the United States, Mexico, and Canada (now part of Canlyte).
In the 1970's, Lightolier pioneered high-performance fluorescent lighting and lighting systems for stores and office work spaces. In 1986, Lightolier created the first digital dimmer and entered the lighting controls market; energy controls followed in 1991. Throughout the 1990's, Lightolier has concentrated on Energy Smart lighting.

In 1994, Lightolier moved its headquarters to Fall River, Massachusetts. In addition, Lightolier has manufacturing and distribution facilities in California, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, Texas, and Mexico. Our Tech Center  supports professional visits and educational seminars.

Lightolier actively supports the development and adoption of good lighting. The company is a Sustaining Member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, a founding member of the American Lighting Association, an Ally of the EPA Green Lights program, and a Partner of the Lighting Research Center.

Inverters

Emergency Lighting Inverters

Emergency Lighting Inverters Description With the advent of new NFPA and life safety codes, the use of Emergency Lighting Inverters has now become common place. In order to supply the demand, Controlled Power Company has developed an entire line of no-break, power conditioning, NFPA and life safety code compliant, emergency lighting inverters. All of Controlled Power Company's emergency lighting inverters are listed to UL924/UL924a standards and are also NFPA 101 compliant.

An Emergency Lighting Inverter is often referred to as a "UPS (Uninterruptible Power System) for emergency lighting". This description is accurate for each of our emergency lighting inverter products, in that they are a true uninterruptible, no-break power supply.

When selecting an emergency lighting inverter (UPS for emergency lighting), it is mandatory that the system is UL924 listed. UL924 ensures that the battery backup system has passed several critical discharge and recharge tests which are required for life safety. UL924 Listed Emergency Lighting Inverters.
