I ordered two of these units, both of which, when removed from the box, both lens for the lights fell off. After securing them in place, one was installed with no problem. However, the other one, when pulling the cover to wire had the circuit board hanging loose inside of the unit. After several attempts, I was finally able to remoint the board to its proper location. After wiring the unit I installed the batteries. When I connected the last positive lead to the last battery, 5 seconds later the battery started smoking and burst into flames. I immediatly, and frantically, disconnected the leads and was able to smother the flames. I then called the manufacturer stating my my experience thinking that the issue would be promptly addressed. Unfortunatrly, the one person in the whole company who could address my concerns had just stepped out but would call me back immediately. The call was made to them on Monday, April 1st and I am still awaiting a reply. Please note, I never called Emergency Lighting as they are not the manufactures. I thought that the manufacturer would be a little more apologetic and would want to address this issue promptly. I will, in the future, return to using SureLights, which this unit replaced.
