LUCE-5

The LUCE-5 emergency ballast consist of a high-temperature, maintenance-free nickel cadmium battery, charger and electronic circuit contained in a 9.5” x 2.375” x 1.5” galvanized steel case. The LUCE-5 emergency ballast is capable of operating 7W, 9W, & 13W twin tube 2-pin with integral starter or 9W-13W quad 2-pin with integral starters in the emergency mode for a minimum of 90 minutes. LUCE-5 consumes 3.5W of input power, and a 24W battery capacity. Complies with emergency standards set forth by the current NEC and is UL Listed for installation inside, on top of, or remote from the fixture.

The LUCE-5 features a solid-state charging indicator light to monitor the charger and battery, a single-pole test switch, and installation hardware. Listed for installation inside, on top of, or remote from the fixture.

BATTERY: The LUCE-5 emergency ballast uses a high-temperature nickel cadmium battery. This battery requires no maintenance, and has a life expectancy of 7 to 10 years.

CIRCUIT: The LUCE-5 can be used with most 7W, 9W, & 13W 2-pin twin compact fluorescent lamps, with an initial output of up to 650 lumens for one lamp. The LUCE-5 DL model suitable for use in enclosed and gasketed fixtures.

The LUCE-5 features a 9.5” x 2.375” x 1.5” durable galvanized steel case.

When AC power fails, the LUCE-5 immediately switches to the emergency mode, keeping one lamp illuminated at a reduced lumen output for a minimum of 90 minutes. When AC power is restored, the ballast automatically returns to the charging mode. The LUCE-5 emergency ballast produces 650 lumens initial emergency light output. During emergency operation, one lamp is illuminated, even if installed with a multi-lamp AC ballast.

The LUCE-5 has been tested by Underwriters Laboratories in accordance with the standards set forth in UL 924, "Emergency Lighting and Power Equipment,” and is UL Listed for factory or field installation. Emergency illumination time exceeds the National Electrical Code (NEC), Life Safety Code (NFPA–LSC) and UL 90-minute requirements.

The LUCE-5 thinline series features a 3-year factory warranty. Deliberate damage, misuse, improper installation and/or application effectively cancel the warranty.
