The Philips Bodine Cold-Pak and Compact Cold-Pak Emergency Ballasts

Cold-Pak models – linear and compact – provide emergency lighting for applications subject to extreme conditions. These may include cold storage facilities, parking garages, outdoor canopies and exposed or partially exposed walkways leading to a public way.

Compact Cold-Pak emergency ballasts feature patented Philips Bodine ELC technology and are therefore compatible with end-of-lamp-life (EOL) circuitry in AC ballasts.

The B84CG had a flex out of each end.  One flex had the line voltage and all the ballast and lamp connections, and the other had the test switch charging indictor and converter connector.  The B84CG could run one 13W to 42W lamp in emergency mode.

The B4CF2PC has a single flex with all the leads and different wiring scenarios for different applications.  The B4CF2PC can run two 13W, 18W or 26W lamps in parallel or one 13W to 42W lamp in emergency mode.

Fig. 302 on the B4CF2PC is like Fig B on the B84CG for 13W to 32W lamps.

Fig. 303 is like Fig. B for 42W CFL.

Fig. 304 is like Fig A on the B84CG.

Fig. 301 is unique to the B4CF2P family.
